Out Of The Ashes

Do you feel like you are living in a cycle of despair, painful rejection and disappointment? Is everything you say and do met with silence or dismissal from others, leaving you feeling painfully unheard?

Out of the Ashes is a real-life story of a young woman whose life was affected by a series of shattering experiences; a volcanic disaster, disappointments, personal struggles and the constant battle of owning her voice and having her needs met. Despite being surrounded by the most idyllic natural beauty one can desire and caring people, she felt alone and invisible. She quickly learned that it was better to be quiet than be ignored, which became her identity.

Her life became one of daily survival, playing small and battling to find out who she was and her purpose.

Yolanda’s refusal to be imprisoned by her past has led her to a place of healing and hope. Her story speaks of her courage, boldness and resilience and finding and owning her voice in the process. A voice that helps others navigate theirs.

THE INVISIBLE GIRL

You can read my full story here, from when I was ten years old and what happened to me. I was admitted to a psychiatric unit at fifteen and continued to suffer throughout my adult life with feelings of self-hatred, fear, darkness and not knowing who I was. I used addictions to help me to cope on the outside when the inside was chaotic. I finally found my healing and had a burning desire to share this with the universe to give love, hope and inspiration to others in pain.

Don’t tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass
