Owning Your Truth

Feeling particularly inspired by this lady’s vulnerable revelations, so much so that I knew I had to share, with her permission, as I am certain it would help others that may come across this.

I began to work with Sherine three months ago who originally wanted to write a self-help book to go alongside her therapy/coaching business detailing her HAPPINESS programme. A session or so into the programme, Sherine experienced a tremendous conflict within herself when it came to us discussing marketing her book (*yes we do this at the start – take note, it’s super important).

She had already published a self-help book but for all the reasons her new book will be about, she never promoted it and almost as soon as she had published it she hid it out of sight feeling like a fraud and broken-hearted. No pride, no good feelings, no inspiration.

This time around, Sherine had almost convinced herself that this time would be different as some things had changed but not the thing that specifically needed to – a truth she was refusing to acknowledge. At this moment, she knew she couldn’t continue as her soul was telling her that it would abandon her book just like before because the reality of what she was saying and who the world would be seeing would be different to the truth of her situation. In effect, she wasn’t walking her talk.

The people who can “fake it til you make it” – well us sensitives have no idea how you do that!

After tears, she declared that she knew she had to share her story first and own that and truly be the woman of substance her work refers to.

I was overjoyed for her, and whilst she’s had at times, an emotional journey, what I see is a very courageous woman who is highly skilled at what she does, and with a very powerful story to share. More powerful than a self-help book because it’s a book of absolute truth, of real-life experiences of struggle, of conflict, of pain, of purpose, of joy, forgiveness, anger, frustration – the emotions that make us human and the depth of them that makes for resilience, for wisdom and for inspiration.

She is a beautiful soul that has lived through so much that her kindness and compassion ran so deeply that she trained extensively as a therapist in many different modalities to give back and help others.

I’ll tell you now, that her story alone will do that as she comes directly from her sensitive heart to speak to her people who will be guided by her learnings, healing and experience.

Owning yourself, your truths and facing your shadows is freedom and the hugest source of inspiration for others. It’s why these books exist and why I live for them so passionately.

I’m highly grateful for Sherine for facing her truths and is on the way to sharing them because she is one hell of a woman that has a lot to bless this world with. I suspect she may get tearful when she reads this, but own it lady and know how much I think of you and your skills. I would have been one of your ideal clients years ago, in my messy state and just reading the wisdom that you share on Facebook would have made a profound difference to me. To be helping you to share your story is like some kind of a mini-miracle to me and a poignant reminder of my why. Thank you.

THE INVISIBLE GIRL

You can read my full story here, from when I was ten years old and what happened to me. I was admitted to a psychiatric unit at fifteen and continued to suffer throughout my adult life with feelings of self-hatred, fear, darkness and not knowing who I was. I used addictions to help me to cope on the outside when the inside was chaotic. I finally found my healing and had a burning desire to share this with the universe to give love, hope and inspiration to others in pain.
