The Story Behind The Photography

There is a lovely little story that I wish to share about the special lady that snapped the photos for this website, that lady is Eleanor Whibley. She’s from my home town of Leicester and as well as taking amazing photos that come to life when you view them she also has a very big heart. My kind of person.
Let’s rewind back to February 2017 when I wrote my first book “The Invisible Girl”. It flooded out of me, and I could not write fast enough once I had begun, sixteen days later, the book was complete. I blew my own mind at having achieved that, but then I was thrown into the world of “how do I turn this manuscript into a book”? Again, I was clearly so aligned that magic took place. After some research (hours of trawling the internet, speaking to authors of both publishers and self-published, reading article after article) my brain was fried! It was suggested that I use a crowdfunding platform to help me fund my book, so I did exactly that. Within a week, I was astonished and overjoyed (and very emotional) that very kind people, including total strangers, had generously contributed so that I could make my book dream come true. Also during those very magical seven days, I found someone to help me to design and publish, I was offered a book launch (again by a stranger!) at a large Leicester event who also put me on the front of a magazine which went out to thousands of folk. And then Eleanor stepped forward and offered me her services. I was stunned. I know the law of attraction was looking out for me and providing and grateful does not cover it.
Eleanor was a dream to work with as she made me feel very comfortable throughout the session as we went on location to the nearby Western Park taking shot after shot that brisk day, with the sun showing an appearance, with me and my new book in tow. Less than an hour later and we had many beautiful images to choose from for my book cover (the one below is what I went with). Check out Eleanor’s work on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/EleanorWhibleyPhotography/ she works with people a lot and captures the most amazing memories.
Fast forward to the end of last year, 2018, and I called upon Eleanor again to take some more special pics for this new website. I didn’t stop to consider anyone else as I knew it was meant to be, she found me and was so thoughtful in my hour of need, and now I could pay it forward. Another photo shoot later and here we are. Thank you so much, Eleanor.
Each person that helped me with my book I will always be so grateful to as they all did it with such love and kindness and I believe they all understood and cared about my why and who I was trying to help. That means a whole lot to me.

THE INVISIBLE GIRL

You can read my full story here, from when I was ten years old and what happened to me. I was admitted to a psychiatric unit at fifteen and continued to suffer throughout my adult life with feelings of self-hatred, fear, darkness and not knowing who I was. I used addictions to help me to cope on the outside when the inside was chaotic. I finally found my healing and had a burning desire to share this with the universe to give love, hope and inspiration to others in pain.
